Complete
I have reached the other side,
The side where loneliness has taken over
It has become a complete part of me
And I, a part of it
In my complete loneliness there is nothing messing
Not even you
Days
Days are leaving me like they were never mine
Borrowed Happiness
I feel this emptiness inside me,
Like the joy of all these months has come crashing down,
As if I borrowed this happiness,
And now it’s time to give it back.
Artist
This whole time,
I thought you were the artist and I was your audience, in awe of you.
But now I see
I am the artist, and you,
the greatest art my mind has created.
| Artist of the Week |
(Artist of the Week is a new series spotlighting emerging and underrepresented artists whose work deserves to be seen. Each week, I’ll share someone whose creativity speaks quietly but powerfully.)
William Saah
William Saah (b.1999) is a Parisian painter, born to an Ivorian mother, and immersed in the world of art from a young age.
After completing his high school diploma, William Saah embarked on an in-depth exploration of art history, which helped him develop his own references and refine his creative approach.
Today, the artist draws inspiration from the human experience, his personal journey, and the present era, conveying deep and universal emotions through his portraits. By nature introverted, he seeks to make his paintings speak where words fall short, offering a true visual narration of the history and emotions of the character he portrays.
“An artwork is a way of translating reality. It's an unique language, and should be treated as such”
